Branding for Mother’s Day: Marketing Tactics from the Pampers Brand
In 1961, a new product was born that would forever change the lives of mothers and babies around the world. That product was called Pampers Diapers! Fast-forward to today and you’ll see that Pampers has grown into one of the most recognisable brands in baby care. So what marketing tactics are they using to make this happen? We’re going to look at some of these methods in this article on branding for Mother’s Day.
The Pampers brand has been around for over 50 years
The Pampers brand has been around for over 50 years. They were one of the first to manufacture disposable diapers and have grown into a widely recognised name in baby care today, so it’s no surprise that they are using branding techniques to maintain this market position! One interesting marketing tactic used by the company is their slogan ‘Share the joy’.
In the past, they have used celebrities to promote their products
Pampers have used many celebrities in their marketing campaigns over the years. They have included celebrities such as Elton John, Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull. Connecting with high profile, well known individuals is a tactic that many companies have used over the years. This is because celebrities are usually followed by many people, and so giving them sponsorship deal means that the Pampers brand will be seen by millions of people.

TV advertising and print ads
Pampers have a huge marketing budget that enables them to make extensive use of TV advertising and print ads in order to achieve their message. They use different forms of media such as magazines, newspapers, posters and tv screens. Their marketing budget is so significant that they have even used the Super Bowl as a way to promote themselves!
Social Media Marketing
Like all major brands , Pampers now make use of social media, in order to reach out to their target audience. They have Facebook posts and Instagram photos as a way of increasing brand awareness.
